Mirfield Show, Mirfield. Mirfield Agricultural Show is one of the most popular family days out in West Yorkshire. We will be demonstrating and giving people a chance to try things out all day. Come along and watch, then give it a go!
SEPTEMBER
9 September (Friday)
University of Leeds Staff Festival, demonstration and workshop. Demo at 4:30 followed by workshop in the dance studio at Stage@Leeds, open to young people and adults aged 12+.
NOVEMBER
5 November (Saturday)
Dojo Open Day and Fourth Anniversary Celebration. Doors open at 12:00. We will be offering demonstrations, a question and answer session, and a taste of Japanese Culture. This is an ideal opportunity to come along and get an idea of what we’re about. We’ll be finished in plenty of time for bonfire night celebrations! Click here to download a poster.

Kobujutsu Shokai Sotsugyoushiki. Graduation ceremony for the Introduction to Classical Japanese Martial Arts course.
JULY
Hopton in Bloom. Shoufukan will be training in the grounds of 45 Hopton Lane, one of the gardens in the popular Hopton in Bloom Garden Trail.

Japan Society North West is organising its third Japan Day and Shoufukan will be taking part again. We’ll be offering demonstrations at 1:05 pm and 3:40 pm and will have an information stall throughout the day. The free event runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and includes: taiko drumming; origami; archery; japanese swords; garden design; calligraphy; kimono; kendo; textiles; sushi; manga; koi carp and more. There’s even a chance to win a flight to Japan! The event is at the Midland Hotel, Peter Street, Manchester M60 2DS.
